Amass Now Connects to Your Files in Microsoft SharePoint and Google Drive

Your research data lives everywhere: in shared drives, team folders, personal cloud storage. Today, we're launching native integrations with Microsoft SharePoint and Google Drive, making it effortless to bring your cloud-stored files into the Amass platform. Securely, selectively, and always up to date.

Your files, your choice, your data context

A key design principle behind these integrations: not all your data is sent to Amass. You choose exactly which data context connect. Only the documents you explicitly select are indexed and made available in your Amass workspace. Everything else remains untouched in your cloud storage.

This means you stay in full control of what enters your scientific intelligence environment without bulk syncing and no surprises. At the same time, you retain full ownership and control of the context used to provide answers to your Tasks in amass.

Always in sync

Once connected, your selected files stay current. When a document is updated in SharePoint or Google Drive, those changes are reflected in Amass automatically. No need to manually refresh. Your datasets evolve alongside your cloud storage, so the insights you get from Amass are always grounded in the latest version of your data.

Secure authentication, no shortcuts

Both integrations use your existing identity providers for authentication. You sign in through your standard Microsoft or Google credentials - the same flows your IT team already manages. Amass never stores your cloud storage passwords, and access tokens are handled securely following OAuth best practices.

For organizations with stricter security postures, this means the integration fits within your existing access governance rather than working around it.

Team collaboration built in

Files connected from SharePoint remain accessible to your colleagues through normal SharePoint permissions. There's no need to duplicate access management — if someone on your team can see a file in SharePoint, the same rules apply in amass. You can even access your files in OneDrive. And of course, any connected files can be added to your Amass Drive for deeper analysis, annotation, and collaboration within the platform.

Getting started

Setting up the integrations takes just a few steps:

For Google Drive:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your Amass workspace.
  2. Click Enable next to Google Drive.
  3. Authenticate with your Google account.
  4. Select the files you want to connect in any given Task.

For Microsoft SharePoint:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations in your Amass workspace.
  2. Click Enable next to SharePoint.
  3. Authenticate with your Microsoft account.
  4. Select the files you want to connect in any given Task.

Note for SharePoint administrators: Depending on your organization's Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) configuration, you may need to whitelist the Amass application before users can authenticate. This is done in the Azure portal under App registration. Your IT admin can approve the application for the organization while individual users can request access through the standard consent flow. If you have questions about this step, reach out to us at support@amass.tech and we'll walk you through it.

Why this matters

Life science teams don't work in a single tool. Research reports sit in SharePoint, experimental protocols live in Google Drive, and the scientific literature is scattered across public databases. Amass was built to unify these sources into a single intelligence layer. With today's launch, your internal cloud storage is now part of that picture.

Whether you're running competitive intelligence across patents and internal strategy docs, or synthesizing clinical trial data alongside your team's research notes, these integrations make it faster to get to the answer.
